Lauri Ahtinen

Lauri Ahtinen is a cartoonist, visual artist and father who would like to get rid of his habit of wearing all black. Ahtinen's patterns and paintings are bursting with bright neon colors and soft pastels.

In Lauri's opinion, the most important task of art is to create hope, joy and alternative futures. 'Feeding children's creativity with imaginatively illustrated, cut and dyed clothes is paramount. Art doesn't just belong in galleries, between decks or museums. It belongs to everyone! It would be important to bump people into art everywhere and without guessing,' thinks Ahtinen. Lauri's newest Dots pattern is made with spray paint. 'It's a playful and whimsical invitation to woods where paint is splashed and where every new stain is like a meaningful memory of what was lived and experienced.'
